A Round Table Dedicated to the SCO Summit 2026 Was Held at the Department of Russian Philology of the Institute of Philology at JASU
On May 21, 2026, Jalal-Abad State University named after B. Osmonov hosted a round table discussion dedicated to the goals, primary areas of activity of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), and the role of Kyrgyzstan within this international association.
The event was organized in compliance with the directive of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic in connection with the upcoming SCO Summit to be held in our country. The objective of the meeting was to widely inform undergraduate students about the significance of this event for enhancing the republic's international prestige, strengthening regional security, as well as economic and humanitarian cooperation.
The expert platform was initiated and organized by the Department of Russian Philology of the Institute of Philology at JASU. The event was conducted as part of advisory, academic, and educational work with students. N. S. Zhamasheva, a senior lecturer of the department, served as the moderator of the round table.
Students of the RYaL-1-23 group (Field of Study: Russian Language and Literature) took an active part in the round table. During the discussion, presentations on the following key areas were delivered and reviewed:
· The history of establishment, principles, and fundamental tasks of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization;
· Prospects for the development of multilateral relations between the SCO member states;
· The strategic significance of hosting the 2026 SCO Summit for the Kyrgyz Republic.
The round table participants demonstrated a high level of preparation and deep engagement in discussing geopolitical, cultural, and humanitarian processes, while expressing a clear understanding of the importance of integration processes for future specialists.
Following the results of the event, information regarding the explanatory work carried out by the Department of Russian Philology of JASU will be duly submitted to the Ministry of Science, Higher Education, and Innovation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
