History of the Center for Sociological Research of JASU.

The Center for Sociological Research (CSR) is a research organization specializing in sociological research. The history of the Center began in the late 1990s with a sociological research center, opened on a voluntary basis at the Department of Philosophy and Humanities. The initiative for its creation belonged to professor, doctor of philosophical sciences Niyazaliev Shailoobai Mamasalievich. Inspired by the rapid social and political changes in the country, he gathered a group of enthusiastic faculty members who began to conduct independent sociological research. Active participation in the practical implementation of the idea was taken by Tokoeva Guldana Samidinovna, Shamshiev Rasul Keneshovich, Shermatov Abdyzhapar Orunbaevich, and Toktogulova Gülzhamal Tynybekovna. They all shared the desire to create a flexible, research structure capable of responding to the demands of the rapidly changing Kyrgyz society.

The Center for Sociological research was officially established as the Center for Specific Sociological Research based on the decision of the Academic Council of JASU dated 28.04.2017. The main goal of the established Center is to conduct sociological research and develop practical recommendations. The CSR conducts public opinion studies at the regional and interregional levels, using both its own network of interviewers and other polling networks. The sociological surveys conducted by the CSR cover a wide range of research areas.

Directions of CSR Work:

-        Conducting monitoring research commissioned by the university administration;

-        Conducting research commissioned by external organizations;

-        Providing consulting assistance on the organization and conduct of research;

-        Information and technological support for research projects.

Today, the Center for Sociological Research is a research and resource center. Its capabilities are used by students, postgraduate students, young researchers, and representatives of third-sector organizations. The CSR specializes in the development and conduct of applied sociological research aimed at studying social processes and current issues of the university. It also provides a range of services to commercial and non-commercial organizations in the development and examination of socio-economic projects, as well as in conducting sociological research. The CSR employs 2 research staff members. The CSR organizes and conducts sociological research both inside and outside the university. We are interested in current social issues related to the functioning of the university: the quality of education, its image in the eyes of applicants, parents, and employers, the social well-being of students and faculty, as well as a wide range of socially significant problems of modern society in general and the Kyrgyz Republic in particular.

With the active participation of the Center's members and the support of the Rector of JASU, Professor Keneshbek Zhumabekovich Usenov, the Center is actively developing and conducting numerous research projects. The Center maintains a staff of experienced interviewers and is equipped with all the necessary technical equipment and modern software. The scientific potential, professionalism, and dedication of the employees allow the Center for Sociological Research of JASU to claim a leading role in the field of sociological research in the region. Sociological research on a wide range of topics is conducted annually at the university. Based on the results of the research, the Center submits an analytical report to the university administration.
