Innovative Approaches in Education: Methodological Master Class Held at the Department of Russian Philology

On April 28, 2026, the Institute of Philology hosted a methodological master class for faculty members, organized by the Department of Russian Philology.

The event focused on an in-depth exploration of contemporary educational trends — ranging from global online platforms to specific methodologies for conducting interactive lessons. The program was structured into three key sessions, each highlighting a distinct area of modern pedagogy:

1. Global Digital Space (MOOC)

The presentation focused on Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Participants explored opportunities to integrate international educational content into existing curricula. Utilizing MOOCs allows students to access lectures from world-leading experts, supplementing traditional programs with up-to-date global expertise.

2. Methodological Framework: The "5E" Model

Special attention was given to a constructive approach to lesson planning using the 5E Model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate). This methodology aims to involve students in the learning process step-by-step: from sparking initial interest to independent research and final assessment.

3. Tools and Interactive Platforms

The final session was practical in nature. Participants were demonstrated the capabilities of the interactive panel as a central element of the modern classroom. Beyond the hardware, several popular educational platforms for creating interactive assignments were analyzed in detail:

·         LearningApps.org and Wordwall — for developing gamified exercises.

·         Google Forms and Online Test Pad — for efficient knowledge assessment and testing.

The master class, held in Room 214, served as a platform for constructive dialogue. Participants noted that combining the 5E methodology with modern equipment and online services significantly enhances the quality of teaching philological disciplines.
