Workplace-Based Training in the Discipline “Practical Course of Russian Literature”

On March 13, 2026, workplace-based training was conducted at Secondary School No. 4 in the city of Manas for students of group РЯЛ-1-25 within the discipline “Practical Course of Russian Literature”. The session was led by Associate Professor Aiylchieva D.T. of the Institute of Philology at B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University.

The purpose of the lesson was to improve the students’ professional competencies, develop practical skills in analyzing literary texts, and familiarize future teachers with the methodology of teaching works of Russian literature in school practice.

During the session, several works of Russian classical literature were studied and analyzed, including the poems “Unreaped Strip” and “Yesterday, at About Six O’Clock…” by N.A. Nekrasov, as well as the short story “The Prisoner of the Caucasus” by L.N. Tolstoy. Particular attention was paid to the artistic features of the works, their themes and ideological content, as well as their educational and moral potential.

Associate Professor Aiylchieva D.T. demonstrated modern methodological approaches to studying literary works in the school classroom. Students actively participated in discussions of artistic images, composition, and linguistic features of the texts, and also completed practical tasks related to literary analysis. Various forms of work were used during the lesson, including group discussions, analysis of text fragments, problem-based questions, and the use of visual materials.

Special attention was paid to developing students’ skills in literary analysis, fostering critical thinking, and teaching them how to interpret literary texts. In addition, methodological aspects of organizing literature lessons at school and effective ways of engaging students in the discussion of works of Russian classical literature were examined.

The workplace-based training allowed students not only to deepen their knowledge in the discipline “Practical Course of Russian Literature,” but also to gain valuable practical experience necessary for their future professional activity as teachers of Russian language and literature. The event became an important element of practice-oriented education for students.
