An Extracurricular Event Dedicated to the 130th Anniversary of S. A. Yesenin as a Form of Developing Students’ Literary Culture

During their professional-profile practice at Secondary School No. 4 in the town of Manas, the trainee students — A. Mamatalieva, A. Maksatbekova, G. Kanybek kyzy, M. Kochkonbaeva, and A. Kubanychbekova — organized and conducted an extracurricular event on November 21, 2025, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of S. A. Yesenin. The relevance of the chosen theme is determined by the fact that Yesenin’s poetry continues to resonate with contemporary readers: his works reveal the deep layers of human emotion and express the connection of the individual with nature, cultural traditions, and spiritual values that remain significant in the 21st century.

Four teams of 9th-grade students took part in the event: “Voice of the Birches,” “Yesenin’s Voice,” “Heart of the Poet,” and “Birch.” The program consisted of six meaningful stages: greetings, a poetry reading contest, an exhibition of artwork, a performance of a romance set to Yesenin’s poems, a literary quiz, and an interactive game. This structure made it possible to combine various forms of creative activity and stimulate students’ interest in Yesenin’s literary heritage.

Based on the results of the competition, the winner was the 9 “V” class team “Birch”; second place went to the 9 “B” class team, and third place to the 9 “A” class team. All participants received certificates, emphasizing the significance of their preparation and active participation.

Methodological support in preparing and conducting the event was provided by the supervisors of the students’ professional practice — A.A. Zhusupova and D.T. Aiylchieva. The jury included A.A. Kalmurzayeva, A.A. Zhusupova, D.T. Aiylchieva, and the methodologist of School No. 4, Ch.D. Abdyrova, ensuring objectivity in evaluation and a high professional level of the literary celebration.
