Kyrgyzstan is one of the founding states of the SCO.

On May 20, the curator of the NT-1-24 group, B.U. Moldobaeva, spoke to students in detail about the goals and main areas of activity of the SCO, and the role of Kyrgyzstan in the organization. Question-and-answer sessions were held during the class hour. The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an international organization whose goal is to develop regional security, economic, and cultural cooperation. The organization was founded on June 15, 2001, in Shanghai. It initially included Kyrgyzstan, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Later, India, Pakistan, Iran, and Belarus joined, and the organization expanded. The main goal of the SCO is to strengthen friendly relations between member states, jointly combat terrorism, extremism, and separatism, and develop trade, economic, scientific, technical, and cultural cooperation. Currently, the organization is considered one of the largest international associations in the world. Kyrgyzstan is one of the founding states of the SCO.
