Current Scientific Seminar Held at the Institute of Philology of JASU named after B. Osmonov

On May 13, 2026 a regular institute-level scientific seminar was held organized by the Department of German Language and Inter-faculty Foreign Languages of the Institute of Philology at B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University. The event was attended by the Director of the Institute of Philology, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Acting Associate Professor Asylbekova Ch.A., Deputy Director for Scientific Work, Associate Professor of the Department of English Language and Literature, Candidate of Philological Sciences Orozbaeva G.A., heads of departments, faculty members, postgraduate students, and master's students. The purpose of the seminar was to familiarize the teaching staff with the latest changes in the regulatory legal acts of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC) of the Kyrgyz Republic to improve the quality of scientific article publications and to exchange experience on new directions in modern linguistics. During the event the keynote speaker Professor of the Department of Intercultural Communication and Linguistics, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Darbanov B.E. presented reports on two relevant topics. In the first part detailed information was provided regarding the features of the new HAC regulations, new requirements for candidates for academic degrees and the procedure for defending dissertations. The second part discussed development tendencies in modern linguistics, the anthropocentric paradigm, and the significance of cognitive linguistics. In the discussion and Q&A session, participants and department heads raised lively questions. In particular a broad exchange of views took place regarding the procedures for placing scientific articles in international databases such as Scopus and RSCI, anti-plagiarism check procedures, and research methodology. Professor Darbanov B.E. provided precise scientifically grounded answers to the participants' questions and offered practical recommendations. At the conclusion of the seminar the Director of the Institute of Philology, Asylbekova Ch.A. delivered a speech noting the high level of the event's organization. On behalf of the institute's staff she expressed deep gratitude to Professor Darbanov B.E. for his informative and relevant report. She also emphasized the importance of such seminars in increasing the scientific potential of teachers and young scientists wishing the participants further success in their scientific activities.
