Open Lesson Held on the Topic “I Want to Be a Lawyer”

On April 23, 2026, Turgunbaeva Nuria, a lecturer at the Department of German and Inter-faculty Foreign Languages of the Institute of Philology at B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University, conducted an open English lesson for students of the group Юк-1-25 on the topic “I Want to Be a  Lawyer.”

The main goal of the lesson was to develop students' fluent speaking skills in a foreign language, teach the correct use of grammatical and lexical units, expand professional vocabulary, and increase interest in the profession of a lawyer. The task was also set to guide students toward becoming highly qualified specialists in the future who know their business.

During the lesson, students performed interactive tasks and demonstrated mutual cooperation skills through group work. Interesting games were also organized, in which students actively participated, and formative assessments were given in the process. Proverbs such as “Where there is no law, there is no freedom” and “A good lawyer knows the law, a great lawyer knows the judge” were provided; their meanings were analyzed and explained in English.

Furthermore, photographs of the most famous and authoritative lawyers of Kyrgyzstan were shown, and information about their life paths and contributions to society was given. Also, their principle “I cannot be indifferent when I see injustice” was offered to the students as an example.

In the final part, presentations prepared by students on the topic “My Future Profession is a Lawyer” were shown, reflecting the responsibility, significance, and place of the lawyer's profession in society. At the end of the lesson, feedback was conducted, and students expressed their opinions.

Modern pedagogical technologies, including interactive tables and visual diagrams, were effectively used in the open lesson, which created wide opportunities for students to deeply master the topic and develop professional communication skills. Teachers of the department staff were present at the lesson; the lesson was highly rated by senior lecturers Moldobaeva Baktykan and Esenova Aichurek, who noted that it was held at the highest level.
