STUDENT OLYMPIAD HELD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF GERMAN LANGUAGE AND INTERFACULTY FOREIGN LANGUAGES

A subject olympiad among students was held at the Department of German Language and Interfaculty Foreign Languages of the Philology Institute. The goal of the event was to identify talented and gifted students, as well as to increase their interest in foreign languages, namely German and English. Students from groups of various specializations participated in the olympiad in German and English. The competition was conducted in oral form and in the form of a test and included various grammatical, lexical, and communicative tasks. Participating students were able to demonstrate a high level of their grammatical knowledge, skills in working with text, and oral speaking culture. The jury, composed of experienced teachers of the department, evaluated the students' work fairly, and as a result, the students with the highest scores were identified. The winners were awarded special certificates of merit prepared by the department.

As the teaching staff of the department noted, such olympiads increase students' self-confidence and strengthen their motivation to learn languages. The winners received a referral to participate in the university level olympiad.

The olympiad took place in an atmosphere of healthy competition, mutual respect, and academic honesty. Such events contribute to the development of students' linguistic competencies and to increasing the quality of their professional preparation.
