Online Webinar on Semantic and Linguocultural Features of Languages

On 25 November 2025, the Department of German Language and Interfaculty Foreign Languages of Jalal-Abad State University named after B. Osmonov held an international (MPGU–JASU) online webinar on the topic “Semantic and linguocultural comparisons in English, German, Russian, and Kyrgyz languages.”

The main speaker of the webinar,  A. A. Kasymbekova, Assoc. Prof. of the

 M. R. Lvov Department of Primary Education at MPGU, presented a scholarly comparison of the lexical and cultural features of the four languages and explained them by means of illustrative examples.

The event was organized on the Zoom platform. Among the participants were instructors from other universities of Kyrgyzstan, the faculty members of the Department of German Language and Interfaculty Foreign Languages of JASU, as well as instructors and students attending  in the auditorium.

The moderator of the event, Dr. Sc. (Philology), Professor B. E. Darbanov, in his opening remarks spoke about the purpose and significance of the webinar, noting that gaining new scientific perspectives on multilingual linguocultural comparisons would be beneficial for the participants. He skillfully organized the discussion, making it meaningful and engaging.

The webinar was opened by C. A. Asylbekova, Director of the Institute of Philology, Cand. Sc.(Philolology), Act.Assoc.Prof., who emphasized that semantic and linguocultural comparison of languages is a relevant field of modern linguistics. She addressed the speaker  A. A. Kasymbekova  and expressed her gratitude for her participation.

The Head of the Department of German language and interfaculty foreign languages  Senior Lecturer A. G. Esenova  warmly welcomed the international and regional audience of participants and noted that such webinars play an important role in shaping scientific worldview.

Participants were active in the “question-and-answer” session and received valuable information on multilingual linguocultural features.

At the conclusion of the webinar, the moderator, Dr. Sc .(Philology), Professor B. E. Darbanov, expressed gratitude to the speaker, A. A. Kasymbekova, for her profound and substantive presentation, as well as to all participants for their engagement.

The event was conducted at a high level and created broad opportunities for international scholarly and practical exchange of experience.
