Scientific report “Science begins with the word”

The department of intercultural communication and linguistics organized a theoretical-reflexive lecture titled “The historical classification of parts of speech.” The event aimed to explore the interrelation between word, language, and concept, as well as to foster students’ scientific thinking and linguistic culture.

The opening speech was delivered by Murad Muydinovich Akbuyukov, head of research at the department, who emphasized the relevance of the topic. Welcoming remarks were also given by I. K. Osmonova head of this department, and Gulbarchyn Abdimazhitovna Orozbayeva, candidate of philological sciences and head of research.

The main report was presented by Dr. Miyasar Inamzhanovna Mirzakhidova, doctor of philology and professor. She analyzed the historical development of the classification of parts of speech and the role of word and language in shaping scientific concepts. The lecture traced the evolution of grammatical systems from ancient linguistic traditions to modern theoretical frameworks.

During the lecture, students gained deeper insights into the dialectical relationship between language and thought, the formation of scientific concepts, and the characteristics of academic language — such as precision, logic, and systematicity.
