APPLYING CRITICAL THINKING IN THE CLASSROOM

Aidana Kurbanova, a lecturer at the Department of English Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology, conducted an open lesson for the group FL-1-23 within the course “Special course of  Methods of Teaching English.”

The topic of the lesson was “Applying Critical Thinking in the Classroom.” The session was based on modern teaching approaches and aimed at developing students’ independent thinking skills.

During the lesson, students learned about the importance of critical thinking and its role in the educational process, and reinforced their theoretical knowledge through practical tasks. Through interactive activities, group work, and discussions, students developed skills in expressing their ideas with arguments, analyzing information, and considering issues from multiple perspectives.

The open lesson was well-organized, active, and productive. Such lessons contribute significantly to enhancing students’ professional competence as well as developing their creative and critical thinking skills.
