ENGLISH IS ONE OF THE LANGUAGES THAT IS RICH IN VOCABULARY

M.M. Toromamatova, Senior Lecturer in the Department of English Language and Literature, held an open lesson on the subject "History of the English Language" for the FL-1-22 group. The lesson was conducted in English, and the topic was "Modern English Period."

The aim of the lesson is to develop students’ understanding of the Modern English period by exploring how English expanded its vocabulary through borrowings from other languages, and to encourage students to actively investigate, analyze, and discuss the origins and usage of loanwords in Modern English.

Dressed in costumes from each country, the students divided into groups and prepared presentations on words borrowed from their respective countries, along with explanations.

Various games, crosswords, exercises, and songs were also offered to accompany these words. Of course, technical aids and visual aids were also used. At the end, the results were announced, and all the students in the group got good marks. It can be said that the lesson achieved its goal, as it provided a wealth of useful information not only for the students but also for the teachers, and we believe this information is accessible to everyone.
