STUDENT OLYMPIAD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE

         On February 4, 2026, a subject-based Olympiad was held among first-, second-, and third-year students at the Department of English Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology. The main objective of the event was to identify talented and gifted students, as well as to enhance their interest in learning the English language.A total of 32 students took part in the Olympiad, demonstrating a high level of academic preparation and a strong motivation for learning. The competition consisted of two stages and included tasks of varying levels of difficulty.During the first stage, the Grammar & Vocabulary Test, participants completed a 30-question test designed to assess their knowledge of grammar and vocabulary. Based on the results of this stage, 15 students with the highest scores advanced to the second stage.The second stage focused on developing communicative skills and logical thinking. Participants were given 30 situational tasks. As a result, 11 students successfully completed the assignments and demonstrated excellent proficiency in English.The Olympiad was conducted in an atmosphere of fair competition, mutual respect, and academic integrity. Such events play an important role in developing students’ language competencies and improving the quality of their professional training.
