Voices that changed the world of literature

On Wednesday, 26th February 2025, head of English Dram Club Zhumabekova Nasiba of the department English language and literature had held Multilanguage Roundtable event under the theme “Voices that changed the world of literature” to discuss Afro-American women writers amazing novels with teachers and students.
On the occasion of International Mother Language Day on 21 February, the Department of Public Information is announcing the launch of “Language Days at the United Nations”, a new initiative which seeks to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity. The purpose of the UN's language days is to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity as well as to promote equal use of languages throughout the Organization and respect for the history, culture and achievements of languages among the UN community.
African American women writers have made invaluable contributions to world literature, exploring themes of racism, gender, identity, and connection with nature through their works. Their works have become an integral part of the cultural heritage of the United States and around the world.
The relevance of this event is that students make interesting and meaningful essays in Kyrgyz, Russian and English about the works of Afro-American women writers who have a special place in world literature.
Also, all steps to promote the mother tongue not only promote linguistic diversity and multilingual education, acquaintance with linguistic and cultural traditions around the world, but also promote solidarity, tolerance and communication based on mutual understanding.
