“NATIONAL SPIRIT – GLOBAL HEIGHTS: THE SPIRIT OF MANAS AND THE WORLD OF AITMATOV”

On September 15, as part of Knowledge Day activities, a curatorial session titled “National Spirit – Global Heights: The Spirit of Manas and the World of Aitmatov” was held for the FМББ(М)-1-24 group of the E. Umetov Pedagogical Institute, part of the Scientific and Educational Production Complex of B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University.

The session was organized by the group curator, Minavar Sharabidinovna Matkarimova. During the event, students discussed national values, the importance of education, the spiritual heritage of the Manas epic, and the literary legacy of Chyngyz Aitmatov. The main purpose of the session was to strengthen students’ interest in national values, explore the spiritual and philosophical significance of the Manas epic, introduce the role of Chyngyz Aitmatov in world literature, and encourage young people to combine national identity with a broader global outlook.

During the session, the epic Manas was presented as a source of national spirit. Students shared their views on the values reflected in the epic, including patriotism, unity, honor, courage, and wisdom. It was emphasized that Manas represents a unique epic heritage encompassing the historical memory, worldview, social experience, and spiritual values of the Kyrgyz people.

Special attention was also given to universal human values reflected in the works of Chyngyz Aitmatov. The students discussed such concepts as humanity, responsibility, freedom, love and trust, the relationship between people and nature, and historical memory.

As part of the session, the students worked in groups and took part in interactive activities. They shared their views based on the thematic sequence “Roots → Spirit → Knowledge → Action → Heights.” The discussion focused on preserving national roots while acquiring modern knowledge, strengthening professional competence, and developing a sense of social responsibility.

A special highlight of the event was the participation of Gulnaz Shermamatovna Murzabekova, mother of Zarifa Abzhalilova, a student of the FМББ(М)-1-24 group. She attended the session especially to congratulate the students on the beginning of the new academic year and wished them success in their studies, a strong commitment to learning, and the achievement of their goals.

The students also shared their thoughts in response to the question, “What can I do for Kyrgyzstan?” Among the ideas they identified were obtaining a quality education, improving professional competence, developing scientific and creative potential, building social responsibility, and respecting the state language and cultural heritage.

In conclusion, the participants emphasized that preserving national cultural heritage while developing modern knowledge, professionalism, and social responsibility is one of the important tasks facing young people today. The event concluded with the motto: “National Spirit – Global Heights!”
