OPEN LESSONS AND METHODOLOGICAL ANALYSIS WITHIN PRACTICAL TRAINING

On March 18, 2026, at the Pedagogical Institute named after E. Umetov of the Scientific-Educational Production Complex “Jalal-Abad State University named after B. Osmonov,” an open lesson was conducted by M. N. Nurmatova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, in accordance with the schedule of open classes. The event was organized within the course “Methods of Teaching Mathematics” for 2nd-year students of the 550200 “Physics and Mathematics Education” program (major: Mathematics), with the aim of enhancing their professional competencies. During the sessions, advanced practices in the application of modern pedagogical technologies were demonstrated through a practical simulation format. Session 1: “Systems of Equations” (Grade 9). Student Gulamzhanova Mokhidil conducted a lesson on “Systems of Equations” for 9th-grade students (with university students acting as school learners). The lesson was based on the innovative 5E instructional model (Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, Evaluation) and was aimed at achieving a deep understanding of the topic. Pair work was used to develop collaborative skills. The interactive platform Kahoot and specially designed presentations were effectively used for checking homework and reinforcing the new material. Session 2: “Systems of Inequalities” (Grade 8) Student Arstanbekova Gülsanam conducted a lesson on “Systems of Inequalities” in accordance with the 8th-grade curriculum. To ensure active student engagement, the mobile application “BilimAi” was used, enabling immediate feedback. The pair-work method was successfully implemented during collaborative problem-solving activities. Following the sessions, a detailed methodological analysis was conducted by the department faculty and students: 1. During the lesson, specially designed worksheets were distributed to the participants. It was particularly noted that these materials are highly effective for information perception, promote independent student work, and, most importantly, significantly save lesson time. 2. Students acting as learners applied the “Two Stars and a Wish” technique to provide feedback by highlighting strengths and offering suggestions. The students who acted as teachers presented a reflective analysis of their own teaching activities. 3. Faculty members of the department who attended the sessions highly evaluated the students’ performance within the pedagogical simulation. Particular emphasis was placed on their digital literacy, ability to effectively implement the 5E model in practice, and the well-structured methodological support (worksheets, applications) developed in accordance with the lesson plan.
