DEVELOPING PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES OF FUTURE MATHEMATICS TEACHERS THROUGH SIMULATION LESSONS

At the E. Umetov Pedagogical Institute of the B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University, efforts to provide workplace-based learning and enhance students’ professional competencies are actively ongoing. Under the supervision of M.N. Nurmatova, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling, specialized practical lessons are being organized for students of the FMBB(M)-1-24 group as part of the “Methods of Teaching Mathematics” discipline. The primary objective of these sessions is to enable students to independently plan lessons, manage classroom dynamics, and engage in pedagogical reflection before they enter the teaching profession. On February 25, 2026, students successfully stepped into the roles of professional educators during their scheduled simulation classes. Takhmina Kochkorova conducted a lesson on “Linear Functions”, applying the globally recognized 5E Instructional Model. She utilized the LearningApps platform to create interactive digital tasks. During the “Engage” phase, she successfully stimulated students’ critical thinking by bridging theoretical concepts with real-world applications. Zarifa Abzhalilova, teaching “Linear Inequalities,” consistently implemented all stages of the 5E model. The active group discussions and the exchange of diverse perspectives helped strengthen her pedagogical confidence. Through effective time management, students also completed additional assignments in their workbooks. The lessons concluded with a focus on modern assessment techniques. Students performed self-reflections and provided constructive feedback to their peers using the “2 Stars and 1 Wish” method. Such practical sessions facilitate the development of professional mastery, ensuring that future graduates become highly qualified specialists who meet the rigorous demands of the modern education system.
