WORK-BASED LEARNING AS A KEY TO DEVELOPING PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES OF FUTURE TEACHERS

On February 10, 2026, a Work-based learning session was organized for students of the FME(M)-1-24 group at the Pedagogical Institute named after E. Umetov, which is part of the Scientific-Educational Production Complex of the Jalal-Abad State University named after B. Osmonov. In accordance with the academic calendar for the 2025–2026 academic year, students of the 550200 Physics and Mathematics Education program (Mathematics profile) participated in a practical session as part of the syllabus for the discipline “Methods of Teaching Physics and Mathematics (Mathematics)”. For this purpose, the students visited the General Education Secondary School No. 9 named after R. Sanatbaev in the city of Manas. They observed a 7th-grade lesson titled “Experimental Probability”. During the session, students witnessed pupils conducting an experiment with coins, which provided an excellent opportunity to integrate theoretical knowledge into a real-world educational environment. Using specially designed worksheets, the students performed the following tasks: • Conducted a methodological observation of the lesson flow and provided a detailed analysis; • Evaluated the complexity levels and the effectiveness of the tasks performed by the pupils. The course lecturer, Dr. M. N. Nurmatova (PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences), participated in the observation alongside the students. She provided practical guidance on managing large classes and demonstrated effective methodological techniques for individual and group engagement with schoolchildren. This format of education significantly enhances the professional level of students and facilitates their successful adaptation to the practical demands of the teaching profession.
