WORKBOOK – A MODERN TOOL FOR IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF MATHEMATICS EDUCATION

On February 10, 2026, an important methodological seminar was held at the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Modeling of the Pedagogical Institute named after E. Umetov, which is part of the Scientific-Educational Production Complex of the Jalal-Abad State University named after B. Osmonov. The event, attended by the department's faculty, focused on the discussion of new teaching tools being developed for students of the 550200 Physics and Mathematics Education program (Mathematics profile). During the seminar, M. Nurmatova, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, introduced a new format for organizing practical classes. She presented workbooks currently under development for the courses “Methods of Teaching Mathematics” and “Mathematical Logic.” M. Nurmatova outlined their goals, objectives, and functions, noting that the steps to achieve learning objectives are provided through clear instructions, while assessment criteria are displayed transparently and accessibly for every student. It was demonstrated that this approach makes conducting classes significantly more convenient and effective in practice. Professor K. S. Alybaev, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, highlighted the specific characteristics of delivering lectures in “Mathematical Analysis”. The Professor explained the didactic requirements for using workbooks during lectures and emphasized that this tool serves as a primary resource for organizing students' independent work and monitoring their academic progress. The seminar concluded with an active discussion among the faculty members. It was noted that the proposed modern methods are of great importance for training future mathematicians. These developed methodological tools are designed to ensure high-quality education for students and to streamline the instructional process for educators.
