Students Participated in an Open Court Hearing

In accordance with the academic plan and academic calendar for the 2025–2026 academic year, a practical lesson on the topic “Court Proceedings” was conducted for the students of group UTс-2-23 within the framework of workplace-based learning in the discipline “Criminal Procedure Law.” The lesson took place on May 13, 2026, in Courtroom No. 1 of the Manas City Court and was conducted by lecturer A. Tashtemirova.

The main purpose of the lesson was to strengthen students’ theoretical knowledge, familiarize them with the practical activities of judicial authorities, and develop their professional skills.

During the practical lesson, students attended an open court hearing where they became acquainted with the procedure for examining court cases, the specific features of judicial proceedings, and the activities of participants in the trial process. During the hearing, criminal cases under Articles 37, 122, Part 2 of Article 209, and Article 178 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic were considered. The students learned about the specific features of handling such categories of cases and the practical application of legal norms.

In addition, during the court session, students observed:

  • the procedure for opening and conducting court hearings;
  • the behavior of the parties during the trial;
  • the activities of the judge and the court secretary;
  • the process of examining evidence and hearing participants’ explanations;
  • the observance of the principles of legality, transparency, and adversarial procedure in judicial proceedings.

After the hearing, a discussion was held with the students, during which the specific features of the examined case, the applied legal norms, and the practical aspects of judicial activity were analyzed.

The conducted lesson contributed to deepening students’ theoretical knowledge, developing their legal thinking, and providing a practical understanding of the activities of judicial authorities.
