SDGs and Pre-Conscription Training: Educating Youth in the Spirit of Patriotism and a Healthy Lifestyle

On May 16, 2026, the Economics and Law College organized a large-scale pre-conscription training competition among first-year students at the site of the Pedagogical Institute of JAMU. The main purpose of the event was to develop students’ strength, speed, endurance, and agility, as well as to improve military-related skills, teach proper actions during emergency situations, strengthen teamwork, and promote mutual support. The event also aimed to foster patriotism, internationalism, and a healthy lifestyle among young people.

The opening ceremony was attended by the director of the Economics and Law College, А.Ташматова, who congratulated the participants on the 34th anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and Victory Day. In her speech, she emphasized the important role of sports in strengthening youth health and highlighted that the competition was organized within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Special attention was given to:

  • Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-being: promoting a healthy lifestyle and increasing physical activity among students;
  • Goal 4 – Quality Education: developing discipline, responsibility, and teamwork skills;
  • Goal 5 – Gender Equality: supporting the social activity and leadership qualities of female students.

Teams formed from first-year groups participated in the competition, competing in running, obstacle courses, carrying loads, and other military-sports activities. The students demonstrated agility, endurance, unity, and determination. The enthusiastic support of the fans created a positive and energetic atmosphere throughout the event.

According to the final results: 1st place — UTk-3-25 group, 2nd place — UTk-4-25 group, 3rd place — UTk-6-25 group.

The winning teams received diplomas and certificates of honor. In addition, students who excelled in kettlebell lifting and arm wrestling competitions were awarded special prizes.

This competition became not only a sporting event but also an important platform for strengthening patriotism, unity, responsibility, and love for the Motherland among students.
