Global Money Week – A Platform for Enhancing Youth Financial Literacy

   Within the framework of the annual event aimed at improving financial literacy — “Global Money Week 2026,” as well as in celebration of the introduction of the national currency of the Kyrgyz Republic (the som) and in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, a meaningful and informative guest lecture was organized by A. Kalmurzaeva and E. Kadyrova, lecturers of the Economics Department at the College of Economics and Law of the Scientific, Educational and Production Complex of B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University.

      The main objective of the event was to enhance students’ financial literacy, develop their skills in effective money management, and provide practical knowledge about the banking system.

     The guest lecture featured Zakirova Inara Vadimovna, Deputy Director of the Jalal-Abad branch of Eldik Bank OJSC, who engaged students in an interactive and insightful discussion. During the lecture, key topics were covered, including the functioning of the banking system, personal finance management, savings culture, responsible borrowing, and modern banking services.

     In addition, students were introduced to interesting facts about the history of the national currency, its role in ensuring economic stability, and the growing importance of digital payments in today’s world.
