Improving the training of social work specialists based on employer recommendations

Objective:

To identify employer requirements for social work specialists and their practical recommendations, as well as to highlight the need to strengthen psychological training in the educational process.

Within the interview, the Career and Practice Supervisor for the speciality of the Social Work at the College of Economics and Law, Anarbay kyzy Aitbu, conducted a discussion with the Head of the Nooken District Department of Labour, Social Development and Migration, Sagyindykova Adyynakhan Ergeshevna, as an employer.

During the interview, Adyynakhan Ergeshevna noted that the institution has an active “Family Support and Child Protection” department. Women and families in various difficult life situations apply to this department, which requires a high level of psychological preparedness from social workers.

As an employer, she emphasized the need to strengthen both practical training and psychological competence of future social work specialists. According to her, specialists must be able to properly understand clients’ emotional states and build humane, supportive interactions.

The interview concluded that the training process of social work specialists should be improved, with particular focus on psychological skills and practical competencies.
