Workplace Learning: Learning English in a Real-Life Environment

This day was especially meaningful and productive for the students of group TMK-2-25 of the College of Economics and Law. The foreign language class went beyond the traditional classroom format and was conducted in a lively, practice-oriented learning environment. At the initiative of the instructor, N. Aiylchieva, the students visited the JAMU library, where they took part in workplace-based learning. The topic of the lesson — “At the library” — was effectively mastered through the integration of theory and practice. The students became acquainted with the university’s spacious and modern library, learned about its structure, departments, and operating rules. This, in turn, significantly contributed to the expansion of their English vocabulary. During the practical part of the lesson, the students explored books, read selected passages, and communicated with each other using key library-related terms in English. Such an approach not only enhances language comprehension but also develops the ability to use it in real-life situations.

This activity became a new and valuable experience for the students, increased their interest in learning, and motivated them toward independent study. Moreover, such practice-oriented classes are an important step in training future professionals.
