Workplace-Based Learning as an Effective Approach to Training Tax Specialists

    Workplace-based learning is being actively implemented at the College of Economics and Law. Within this initiative, instructors of the Economics Cycle Commission for the specialty “Taxes and Taxation” — Z.M. Akhmedova, G.B. Bekieva, and G.P. Salibaeva — organized a workplace-based training session at the State Tax Service of Manas city.

During the session, A.B. Bakirova, Senior Inspector of the Export-Import Control Sector within the EAEU framework of the Monitoring and Analysis Department, delivered a lecture on “Acceptance and Processing of Tax Declarations.” The session covered in detail:

- types of tax declarations;

- procedures for completing them;

- the process of receiving electronic reports.

As part of the workplace-based learning process, students were introduced to modern methods of receiving tax declarations, the use of automated systems for data verification, and mechanisms for identifying and correcting errors. The explanations provided by A.B. Bakirova were supported by practical examples, which facilitated the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills.

During the training, students gained first-hand insight into the operational processes of the tax authorities and developed a deeper understanding of their future profession. Particular interest was shown in working with electronic reporting systems, ensuring information security, and maintaining professional ethics in interactions with taxpayers.

As a result, the event provided valuable practical experience, increased students’ interest in the “Taxes and Taxation” specialty, and contributed to building a strong foundation for their professional development.
