Workplace-Based Training: Strengthening Students’ Practical Skills in the Field of Public Finance

        To enhance workplace-based training, the heads of the “Finance (by sectors)” program of the College of Economics and Law, A. Kalmurzaeva, organized practical training at the Manas Financial Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the event, the Head of the Treasury Department, Aibek Ravshanbekovich Sartbaev, provided detailed explanations on the following important topics:

- analysis of inter-institutional cooperation systems and their practical importance;

- the role of planning within an organization, the need for data exchange and collaboration with other institutions;

- the significance of annual, quarterly, and monthly planning, stages of the budget process, and specific aspects of reporting on completed work.

      For the students, this information became more than mere theory — it offered a chance to see the real “inner workings” of professional processes. Understanding formulas and charts on paper is one thing, but observing how they function within a state institution is another level entirely.

After that, the speaker provided additional information about current opportunities for employment in government agencies. As noted, today even young people with secondary vocational education can apply for public sector positions. Candidates applying to financial departments, tax services, customs services, and other state bodies must undergo testing based on the Budget Code, Tax Code, and Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic.

     Applicants who answer 50% of the questions correctly are placed in the personnel reserve and may be appointed to vacant positions when they become available. In other words, “those who strive will always find an open door.”

This experience became an important step for students, allowing them to better understand their future profession and observe the principles of the public finance system in action.
