By Order No. 398 dated December 20, 2016, the department was named "Public Health." In 2018, the department was renamed to "Hygiene and Public Health" (according to Order No. 139 dated August 28, 2020, clause 1). The Departments of "Morphological Disciplines" and "Hygiene and Public Health" were merged (according to Order No. 139 dated August 28, 2020, clause 2). As a result, the Department of "Morphological Disciplines and Public Health" was established.

From 2016, the Department of "Hygiene and Public Health" was headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Temirov Nemat Moydunovich. Since 2020, the Department of "Morphological Disciplines and Public Health" was also headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Temirov Nemat Moydunovich.

In 2023, the department was renamed to "Public Health." Since September 2024, the acting head of the "Public Health" Department has been Dr. Aynura Kashkarlykovna Kambarova, a top-category physician and lecturer.

EducationalProcess The main objectives of the training at the Department of "Public Health" are:

• To prepare a doctor who possesses both general and specialized competencies, as well as universal and subject-specific competencies, which contribute to their social mobility and stability in the labor market.
• To ensure readiness for postgraduate training, followed by the professional medical practice in the chosen field.

• Monitoring and assessment of infection control in healthcare organizations of the Jalal-Abad region (both inpatient and outpatient facilities).
• Monitoring and assessment of infection control in tuberculosis institutions in the Jalal-Abad region.
• Features of the coronavirus infection morbidity among the population of the Jalal-Abad region during the pandemic.
• The current ecological state of Kok-Art and issues related to the use of water resources.
• Soil pollution in a technogenic environment.

Department Meetings at the Beginning of the Academic Year The following issues were discussed:

Collaboration of the Department The department actively develops partnerships for the preparation of highly qualified scientific personnel and the improvement of educational quality with various universities both within the country and abroad.

Since 2016, department staff have prepared more than 75 scientific articles, which have been published in international scientific medical journals (in Moscow, Belgorod, Nizhnevartovsk, Samara, Bishkek, USA, and Poland).

Additionally, more than 15 educational manuals have been prepared on subjects such as epidemiology, general hygiene, public health, microbiology and virology, infection control, and introduction to the specialty. These manuals are used by medical faculty students and other universities across the country. All educational materials have been translated into English and are used to teach international students.

The department operates 8 classrooms, two laboratories, 4 practical rooms, and two computer-demonstration rooms. Student clubs are organized in the department by subject:

• Epidemiologist
• Microbiologist

As a result of the 2023 competition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Jalal-Abad State University (JASU), the university was awarded the winner's diploma in the category "Best Textbook."

As a result of the 2022 academic year, JASU was also awarded the first-degree diploma in the competition "Best Scientific Article."

During this period, members of the club prepared 22 scientific reports, which were presented at the student scientific-practical conference of JASU. In 2019, at the student scientific-practical conference of JASU, the member of the "Epidemiologist" club, second-year student Isaev Beksultan (2-14 LDK), took first place.

• At JASU, a scientific and practical conference was organized for Science Day on the topic: “Scientific Research and Innovative Technologies.” Our department, under the guidance of Associate Professor, PhD N.M. Temirov, prepared two scientific articles. Based on the results of the scientific conference, our department was awarded a certificate and a first-degree diploma.
• From 2016 to 2023, the department was headed by Associate Professor, PhD Nemat Moydunovich Temirov. In 1986, he graduated with honors from the Sanitary-Hygienic Faculty of KGMI, studied from 1986 to 1988 in clinical residency in the specialty of "Social Hygiene and Healthcare Organization," defended his PhD dissertation in 2006, and received the title of "Associate Professor" in 2018 (Protocol No. 4/6, from 27.04.18, VAK KR). He was awarded the title of “Excellence in Healthcare” in 2009 and “Excellence in Education” in 2020 in Kyrgyzstan. In 2018, he was awarded the medal “For Achievements in the Field of Labor,” and in 2021, the medal “For Merits in Healthcare.” In September 2023, the acting head of the department of "Public Health" was appointed to Ainuira Kashkarlykovna Kambarova, a faculty member of the department. In 1993, she graduated from the Kyrgyz State Medical Institute with a degree in Medical Preventive Care, completed a clinical residency from 2000 to 2002 at Jalal-Abad University, and later qualified as an infectious disease specialist. From 2008 to 2011, she continued her training.

The department also employs distinguished healthcare professionals such as Baltaeva N.Zh and Kambarova A.K., who have been awarded honorary diplomas by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Kyrgyz Republic. There are 3 physicians of the highest category and 4 senior lecturers.

Department Achievements:

• The Head of the Department, PhD N.M. Temirov, became the laureate of the 3rd degree diploma in the "Best Scientific Article of the Year" competition, published in the 2021 and 2022 academic years.
• In the 2022 and 2023 academic years, the winner of the rector’s competition, according to Order No. 19 from 21.11.2022, was recognized as the highest scorer for scientific work in the department, PhD N.M. Temirov.
• In 2021, on February 25-26, he participated in the Eurasian Scientific Union conference in Moscow on the topic “Analysis of the Work of Mobile Teams During the COVID-19 Pandemic at the Family Medicine Center (FMC) of Jalal-Abad City, Kyrgyz Republic.” He is the author of the scientific paper.
• In 2023, on April 5, he participated in the XXXVI International Scientific-Practical Conference in Sevastopol, Russia, on the topic "Results of Monitoring and Assessment of Infection Control Work During the COVID-19 Pandemic in the Regions of Kyrgyzstan."

1.      In 2022, N.M. Temirov was awarded a diploma for participation in the International Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic "Problems and Prospects for the Development of the Globalization Process as the Basis for the Successful Formation and Development of Social Unity" and others.

Nemat Moydunovich Temirov, Ph.D., Associate Professor, conducts a practical class on "Epidemiology" on the topic of disinfection and sterilization of medical instruments.

Teacher N.M. Temirov familiarizes students during the practical session on the subject "General Epidemiology" with the rules for donning and removing the plague protection suit type 1 during quarantine infections.

In the subject "Modern Principles and Standards of Infection Control," instructor N.M. Temirov teaches students the rules for conducting a fit test for healthcare workers when selecting a respirator to protect against respiratory infectious diseases.

  Teacher N. Temirov familiarizes students of group 1-17 LDK with the structure, function, and tasks of the wastewater treatment facility in the city of Jalal-Abad during the practical session on the subject "General Hygiene."

During the laboratory session on microbiology, virology, and immunology, teacher Cholponkulova B. explains to students of group LDK-23 the sensitivity of microorganisms to antibiotics.

The conference on "Epidemiological Situation of Tuberculosis Incidence in the Population of Jalal-Abad Oblast" was attended by leading doctors from the Jalal-Abad Oblast TB Center (ЖОЦБТ) and medical faculty students.

Teacher M.Sh. Ziavidinov and his students walked from the ATF building to the main campus of Jalal-Abad State University (ЖАГУ) with the slogan "Life without AIDS."

The Department of Public Health. On World AIDS Day, the department staff met with employees from the AIDS Center and delivered a lecture to the students.
