A CURATORIAL HOUR ON “EDUCATION — A PATH TO EXCELLENCE, MANAS — THE NATIONAL SPIRIT, AITMATOV — A GLOBAL HEIGHT” HELD AT JASU

For students of groups DT-1-26 and DTk-2-26 in the Physical Education, Sports and Pre-Military Training programmeOn September 15, 2026, a curatorial hour on the theme “Education — a Path to Excellence. Manas — the National Spirit. Aitmatov — a Global Height. National Spirit — Global Height” was held at B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University for students of groups DT-1-26 and DTk-2-26 in the Physical Education, Sports and Pre-Military Training programme.The main objectives of the curatorial hour were to increase students’ interest in education, foster respect for national values, explain the spiritual and cultural significance of the epic “Manas”, introduce the universal human values reflected in the works of the great writer Chingiz Aitmatov, and strengthen the civic responsibility of young people.During the event, students received information about the importance of education for personal development and the future of society. The participants discussed the effective use of their student years, the importance of deepening professional knowledge, and the aspiration to become specialists who can contribute to society.Special attention was devoted to the epic “Manas”. Students shared their views on its place in the spiritual and cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people and discussed such values as patriotism, unity, honour, courage and responsibility.Another part of the curatorial hour focused on the creative legacy of Chingiz Aitmatov. The participants discussed themes of humanity, patriotism, morality, responsible attitudes towards nature and spiritual development reflected in his works. It was also noted that state and international events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the writer are being held in 2026.The event also addressed the significance of the national ideological course “National Spirit — Global Height”. Students exchanged views on the need to preserve national values while striving for modern education, science, sport and professional development. It was noted that the national ideological course “National Spirit — Global Height” was approved by Decree No. 369 of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 18, 2024.For students studying physical education and sports, particular attention was paid to the importance of discipline, hard work, endurance, team spirit, responsibility and the pursuit of victory in sports.programme.
