WORKPLACE-BASED TRAINING WITH STUDENT INTERNS

      Lecturers of the Department of English Language and Literature of the Philology Institute, G.A. Zhoroeva and M.M. Toromamatova, visited secondary schools № 8 and № 9 as part of the professional-profile internship program. They monitored the interns’ teaching activities and provided methodological support.The main purpose of the workplace-based training is to help students develop practical teaching skills in a real school environment, including lesson planning, conducting classes, assessment, and effective interaction with learners. The lecturers observed the interns’ lessons, analyzed their methodological performance, and provided constructive feedback. In addition, the methodologists discussed the 5E instructional model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate) and elements of the Singapore teaching approach together with the schools’ English teachers, exchanging ideas on integrating innovative strategies into the classroom. This practice format significantly enhances students’ pedagogical competence and builds a strong foundation for their future professional careers.
