Practical Training of Future Teachers at the Department of English Language and Literature

On-the-job training at the Department of English Language and Literature is aimed at developing the professional competencies of students and young teachers in real educational settings. This practice-oriented form of learning enables participants to apply theoretical knowledge gained during their studies directly in classroom and departmental activities.

As part of the program, Dilafruz Ibrahimovna Ergasheva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of English Language and Literature, visited a lesson conducted by Meerimgul Arstanova, a 4th-year student undergoing professional practicum at Secondary School No. 8 in the city of Manas.

The purpose of the visit was to provide methodological support and to promote the exchange of experience between the mentor and the student-teacher during the English language lesson. During the class, Meerimgul Arstanova demonstrated her ability to plan lesson structure, use diverse forms of student engagement, and create a friendly and positive classroom atmosphere.

Dilafruz Ibrahimovna noted the student’s high level of preparation, creative approach to presenting the material, and her enthusiasm for implementing modern teaching technologies. Following the lesson, several recommendations were given to improve lesson organization, goal-setting, and to expand interactive components.

Such collaborative activities help future teachers develop professional skills, strengthen the connection between the university and schools, and encourage students to build their own individual teaching style.

The Department of English Language and Literature fosters both personal and professional growth of its members, supporting initiative, creativity, and the pursuit of continuous self-improvement. On-the-job training provides a valuable opportunity to become part of the academic community, receive mentorship from experienced educators, and apply knowledge in practice.
