Practice-Oriented Training of Future Teachers: Orientation Conference and Master Class

As part of the preparation for the upcoming professional practice, an orientation conference was held on March 19, 2026, for 5th-year students majoring in “Pedagogy” (profiles: “Pedagogy and Methods of Primary Education” and “Pedagogy and Methods of Preschool Education”). The event was attended by faculty members, representatives of the administration, staff of the distance learning department, as well as a representative of the Department of Practice and Career Development, Nuria S. Zholdoshalieva. The main purpose of the conference was to familiarize students with the objectives, requirements, and specific features of the upcoming practice, as well as to enhance their professional readiness to work in educational institutions. Particular attention of the participants was drawn to the practice-oriented segment of the conference. A distinctive feature of the event was a master class delivered by Professor Taalaybek E. Umetov from the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, and Innovative Technologies on the topic “Folk Games as a Means of Developing Mathematical Skills in Primary School.” In accordance with the principles of workplace-based learning, Professor Umetov organized an interactive session for part-time students, demonstrating effective methods of integrating elements of folk pedagogy into the educational process. Traditional game tools such as chuko (knucklebones), hammer, stones, ropes, sticks, and other items were used during the master class. The practical focus of the session facilitated active student engagement, generated strong interest, and stimulated their cognitive activity. Participants were not only observers but also directly involved in game-based exercises aimed at developing mathematical concepts in primary school children. It should be noted that the presented topic is included in the workplace-based learning curriculum and reflects modern approaches to developing the professional competencies of future teachers. Such events contribute to improving the quality of student training, developing professional thinking, and forming practical skills necessary for successful teaching practice.
