Patient-oriented training in the discipline of Phthisiology was conducted by the Department of Clinical Disciplines at the clinical base of the Jalal-Abad Regional Tuberculosis Control Center named after R. G. Bauer in the city of Manas

During the session, students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the principles of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of tuberculosis directly within a specialized medical facility. The training included bedside practice, analysis of clinical cases, review of laboratory and instrumental examination results, as well as discussion of management strategies for patients with various forms of tuberculosis.

Special attention was given to developing students’ communication skills, considering the individual characteristics and needs of each patient, and adhering to medical ethics and deontology. Under the supervision of the instructor, students practiced establishing a trusting relationship with patients and explaining diagnostic and treatment steps in a clear and accessible manner—an essential component of the patient-oriented approach.

The practical part of the session enabled students to observe the clinical course of tuberculosis, understand the importance of a comprehensive approach, and appreciate the value of interdisciplinary collaboration. The training contributes to developing the professional competence of future physicians and strengthens their readiness to work with patients in real clinical practice.
