Scientific and Practical Conference “The Nation’s Root Path and the Historical Role of Mamyr Mergen uulu”

At the B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University, a scientific and practical conference titled “The Nation’s Root Path and the Historical Role of Mamyr Mergen uulu” was held. The event was dedicated to the spiritual initiative “National Spirit – Global Height” and the 187th anniversary of Mamyr Mergen uulu, a hero of the Turkestan liberation movement.

During the conference, scholarly presentations were made. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Sulaiman Kaipov spoke on the topic “Identifying the role of great figures in history — a requirement of the Root Path,” while Kiyas Moldokasymov, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor, and Chairman of the “Muras” Society under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, shared archival documents about Mamyr Mergen’s struggle, fate, and death.

“The university consistently organizes scientific and practical conferences aimed at honoring national heroes who sacrificed their lives for the people and at setting an example for the younger generation. Such events foster patriotism and national pride among youth,” said Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, and Rector of JASU K. Usenov.

Mamyr Mergen uulu was born into a humble family of the Munduz tribe from the left wing of the Kyrgyz people, who lived in the valley between the two rivers known as Eki-Suu, in the Uch-Korgon and Izbaskan areas on the left bank of the Naryn River. His life path and heroic deeds were highlighted during the conference.

It should be noted that the commemoration of the hero — including the installation of his monument and the organization of scientific conferences — is being carried out in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 18, 2024.
