YOUTH AFFAIRS COMMITTEE OF JALAL-ABAD STATE UNIVERSITY NAMED AFTER B. OSMONOV

The Youth Affairs Committee (YAC) of Jalal-Abad State University named after B. Osmonov is a structural unit that supports youth initiatives, protects their rights and interests, and implements state youth policy within the university. The Committee operates in accordance with the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Law “On the Fundamentals of State Youth Policy,” the Law “On Education,” and the Charter of Jalal-Abad State University. The YAC is a non-profit organization and is financed with the approval of the university administration.

The main goal of the Youth Affairs Committee is to create conditions for the comprehensive development of young people, encourage their active participation in public life, protect their rights and interests, and implement state youth policy within the framework of the university.

Main areas of activity of the Youth Affairs Committee: • Implementation of the state youth policy of the Kyrgyz Republic; • Contribution to the implementation of the National Program “Youth of Kyrgyzstan”; • Protection of the rights and interests of students; • Enhancing the intellectual, spiritual, and patriotic development of young people; • Providing assistance to students in need of moral and social support; • Promoting volunteerism and supporting social projects; • Expanding international cooperation and partnerships with youth organizations; • Organizing festivals, forums, conferences, campaigns, and other events; • Promoting a healthy lifestyle and strengthening civic responsibility among youth.

Structure of the Youth Affairs Committee of JASU: • Chairperson; • Deputy Chairperson; • Executive Secretary; • Student Parliament; • Student Council; • Volunteer groups and youth activists.

The overall activities of the Committee are supervised by the Chairperson, who is appointed by the Rector’s order and is fully responsible for the performance of the YAC. The governing body of the Committee consists of the Chairperson and the University Council for Youth Affairs. The Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson, and Secretary distribute their responsibilities and coordinate the activities of faculty youth committees and student councils. Each faculty-level committee is responsible for supporting youth initiatives, organizing events, and providing reports on their activities. The Youth Affairs Committee provides every student with opportunities to participate in university community life, develop leadership skills, implement personal initiatives, and make their voice heard.
