DELEGATION FROM THE KYZYLSU KYRGYZ AUTONOMOUS PREFECTURE OF XINJIANG VISITED JALAL-ABAD STATE UNIVERSITY

On June 8, 2026, Jalal-Abad State University named after  B. Osmonov welcomed the delegation led by Wen Guanghua, Standing Member of the Party Committee and Vice Governor of the Kizilsu Kyrgyz Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang; Ren Maozhi, Director of the Key Laboratory of Functional Agricultural Bioengineering of Xinjiang; as well as Yang Zhongneng, Shen Jianping, Yiliheerbaike, Peng Yu, and Hu Yigan.

The delegation was welcomed by the Rector of B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Keneshbek Zhumabekovich Usenov.

During the visit, a four-party strategic cooperation agreement was signed among B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University, the Institute of Urban Agriculture of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Xinjiang Key Laboratory of Functional Agricultural Bioengineering, and the Chengdu National Agricultural Technology Center.

The agreement aims to strengthen scientific, technological, and industrial cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, taking into account the development prospects of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan transport corridor. The document outlines several priority areas of cooperation.

These include conducting joint research in smart and environmentally sustainable functional agriculture, developing processing and marketing mechanisms for agricultural products grown in selenium-rich regions of Kyrgyzstan, and designing technological solutions for the effective use of mountainous and saline lands.

The parties also plan to establish joint laboratories and research centers along the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway route, develop demonstration bases and technology parks within the Jalal-Abad–Xinjiang–Chengdu cooperation framework, and promote knowledge exchange in biomedicine, protein technologies, and human resource development.

During the meeting, particular attention was given to the scientific and economic potential of cross-border cooperation. It was noted that the geographical proximity and historical and cultural ties between Kyrgyzstan and the Kizilsu Kyrgyz Autonomous Prefecture create favorable conditions for implementing joint initiatives.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the university campus and the Confucius Institute, inspected the proposed site for future joint laboratories, and paid an official visit to the headquarters of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway project.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides expressed mutual interest in expanding cooperation in education, science, innovation, and technology.
