Visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to JASU

On August 7, 2025, a delegation visited the B. Osmonov Jalal-Abad State University, consisting of:

  • Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to the Kyrgyz Republic — Mekin Mustafa Kemal Okem.
  • Chairman of the Ahıska Turks Association in Jalal-Abad — Daniyar Suleymanov.
  • Deputy Director of the Turan Yazgan Institute — Alymkul Umarov (interpreter).

The guests were welcomed by the Rector of JASU — Keneshbek Jumabekovich Usenov, and the Vice-Rector for Administrative and Economic Affairs — Salmoor Sadirbekovich Umetov.

During the meeting, the Rector presented the history of the university’s establishment, its achievements, and key areas of development. The Ambassador expressed interest in the existing cooperation and inquired about any challenges where he could provide assistance. The university administration noted that it would be beneficial to activate partnerships with Turkish universities, especially those with which cooperation agreements have already been signed.

Among the proposals voiced by JASU was the initiative to establish a Turkish Faculty to strengthen cooperation, including in new fields such as agronomy, tourism, and hospitality management. It is envisaged that, should lecturers be sent from Türkiye, the university will provide all necessary conditions for their work and for the implementation of educational programs.

In addition, the Rector proposed exploring the development of dual degree programs, which are currently among the most sought-after formats of international education and would enable graduates to obtain diplomas from both countries.

The Ambassador noted that, at present, special attention is given to projects aimed at regional development. He expressed his readiness to provide support, including in the participation of the university in future competitions and projects.

The meeting was held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, with both sides confirming their interest in expanding Kyrgyz–Turkish cooperation in the field of education.
