"Management of Physiological Labor. The Fetus as a Participant in Childbirth,"

A practical training session for 4th-year students in obstetrics and gynecology was held at the Simulation Center of the Medical Faculty of JASU

As part of the topic "Management of Physiological Labor. The Fetus as a Participant in Childbirth," students underwent training using modern educational technologies, including problem-based learning (PBL) and simulation-based training.

During the session, future doctors were immersed in a clinical scenario simulating the admission of a woman in labor to the delivery room. Under the guidance of an instructor and with the support of high-fidelity simulators, students conducted a comprehensive assessment of the mother and fetus, planned the management of the first and second stages of labor, and performed practical procedures — from artificial rupture of membranes to clamping the umbilical cord and assessing the newborn using the Apgar score.

Particular attention was paid to the fetus as an active participant in the birth process: students analyzed fetal position, presentation, adaptive mechanisms, and reactions to labor based on CTG data and visual scales.

Such sessions not only help build solid clinical skills but also develop responsibility, teamwork, communication, and ethical competencies — all of which are essential in training qualified physicians.
