Information about the department

From 2014 to 2018, the department existed as part of Surgery and Traumatology under the leadership of Candidate of Medical Sciences A.B. Eshmuratov (by Order No. 282)

In 2018, taking into account the large number of hours, the Department of Surgery and Traumatology was divided into the Department of Surgery and Traumatology under the leadership of A.B. Eshmuratov and the Department of General Surgery under the leadership of PhD, Associate Professor K.O. Abdykalykova (by Order No. 227 dated August 30th. 2018)

The department was established by the decision of the Academic Council and the order of the Rector of ZHAGU No. 1/15 dated January 19, 2016. The department is a structural unit of the Faculty of Medicine of ZHAGU, carrying out educational, methodological and research work. The department provides training for students of the III-IV-V courses of the faculty.

Educational activity of the department

Teaching at the department is carried out on the basis of the State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education (GOST HPE), approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, according to a unified methodological system, taking into account the specifics of the subjects. Lectures are delivered using TCO.

The department has developed work programs with competence maps, methodological developments with thematic plans for lectures and practical exercises, test options, questions for modules, control papers, exam papers, necessary literature, and an independent work program.

Due attention is being paid to improving the pedagogical skills of teachers in English, due to the emergence of foreign groups. Every year, experienced teachers from foreign countries (India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan) are invited to give lectures. The teaching staff of the department is developing and preparing for the release of teaching materials and visual aids.

The mission and main objectives of the department:

• the mission of the department is to prepare students who combine high general professional training with a broad cultural outlook, computer literacy, knowledge and interpersonal skills, which are given in the department

• development of network programs of interaction with other departments, universities of this and neighboring countries;

• development of human resources, professional development of scientific and pedagogical staff of the department;

• increase in the number of international students enrolled in the department's educational programs;

• strengthening international cooperation, integrating the department into the research and innovation space;

• carrying out joint scientific research with the involvement of students;
