About the Departmentof Anatomy and Physiology
The department was established by the decision of the Academic Council and the order of the Rector of JASU No. 1/15 dated January 19, 2016. Previously, it was part of the Department of Morphological Disciplines. Its first head was Candidate of Medical Sciences, Acting Professor Matsakov Kanybek Sulaymankulovich(2016-2017 and 2018-2019). In subsequent years, the department was headed by: Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Berkmamatov Shamyrbek Toktosunovich (2017-2018), and Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Nurdinov Shamshidin Shabidinovich (2019-2020). Since December 1, 2020-2022, the department is headed by Candidate of Biological Sciences, Acting Associate Professor Nurmanbaev Muktar Zhakypovich. Since 2022-2023. The department was headed by PhD, Acting Professor Turatova Tynara Duishobekovna. Since 2024, the head of the department has been PhD in Biology, Associate Professor Nurdinov Shamshidin Shabidinovich.
The Department of Anatomy and Physiology is a structural subdivision of the Medical Faculty of JASU, carrying out educational, methodological and research work. The department trains first- and second-year students of the faculty.
The following disciplines are assigned to the department:

Currently, 20 teachers provide educational activities at the department, including 14 full-time and 1 part-time. There is 1 doctor of science, 4 candidates of science. The share of teachers with an academic degree is 40%.

Educational activities of the department
Teaching at the department is carried out on the basis of the State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education (GOST VPO), approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic, according to a unified methodological system taking into account the specifics of the subjects. Lectures are given using TSO.
The department has developed work programs, which include competency maps, methodological developments with thematic plans for lectures and practical classes, test options, questions for modules, tests, exam tickets, the necessary literature is indicated, and a program of independent work has been compiled.
Due attention is paid to improving the pedagogical skills of teachers in English, due to the emergence of foreign groups. Experienced teachers from foreign countries (India, Pakistan, Uzbekistan) are invited annually to give lectures. The teaching staff of the department develops and prepares for the release of teaching aids and visual aids.

The department conducts scientific work on two topics: "Pathophysiology of immunogenic reactivity of the human body". The scientific work is supervised by PhD, acting professor K.S. Matsakov. "Efficiency of hernioplasty in patients with postoperative and umbilical hernias", teacher Akimov M.A. The department has organized a student scientific circle "Anatomist", which is headed by teachers of the department M.A. Akimov and M.T. Tolonbaeva. The circle plays a very important role in the formation of a future doctor and researcher. Studying disciplines, performing their first scientific works, students acquire skills that will be useful both for a doctor of any specialty and for a researcher.
Organization and participation in conferences:
The department staff organized a regional conference dedicated to the World Tuberculosis Day on the topic: "Current problems of tuberculosis and issues of their solution."
The department staff actively participate in scientific and practical conferences, symposia and seminars with reports and receive certificates.

Material and technical base of the department
The department is located in the academic building of the ATF JASU. The department has 15 rooms, including: 2 lecture halls, 9 classrooms for practical classes, 1 anatomical museum, 1 teaching staff room, 1 laboratory assistant room, and the office of the head of the department. The classrooms for practical classes are equipped with visual aids, dummies of body parts and organs, posters, interactive boards, slide projectors, and a 3D table "Anatomix". The anatomical museum "Adam Taanuu"(Human recognition) is used to store and display students' work in the field of dissection and study of the structure of the human body. An exhibition of independent student work is held in the museum. Lecture halls are used for lecturing, holding mass events - olympiads and competitions. The teaching staff room and the office of the head of the department are equipped with the Internet and there is access to the electronic library.
The mission of the Department of Anatomy and Physiology
Improving students' knowledge of fundamental basic subjects, using new innovative technologies, as well as developing clinical thinking.
Mission and main objectives of the department:
- • the mission of the department is to prepare students who combine high general professional training with a broad general cultural outlook, computer literacy, knowledge and interpersonal skills, which are given in the department
- • development of network programs for interaction with other departments, universities of this and neighboring countries;
- • development of human resources, improvement of the level of professional qualifications of scientific and pedagogical staff of the department;
- • increase in the number of foreign students studying in the educational programs of the department;
- • strengthening international cooperation, integration of the department into the research and innovation space;
- • implementation of joint scientific research with the involvement of students;
- • introduction of innovative technologies that ensure the identification and development of the creative potential of students;
