BRIEF HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMEN
In accordance with the order of the Rector of JADU named after B. Osmonov (Jalal-Abad State University), the Department of Natural Science Education was established January 31, 2022, through the merger of the Departments of Biology, Geography, and Chemistry. From October 10, 2023 (based on Order 589/1), the department was headed by Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Egemberdieva Altynai Duishoevna. Since February 7, 2024 (Order 64/1), based on the results of the elections for the position of Head of the Department, the Department of Natural Science Education has been headed by Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Acting Associate Professor Zheenbekova Burulai Zholbolduevna.
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Natural Science Education currently trains specialists in the 550100 Natural Science Education field of study (bachelor's and master's programs). Based on the State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education (SES HPE), which was approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (MES KR) "On the approval of state educational standards of higher professional education" No 1578/1 September 21, 2023, and taking into account the needs of the labor market and other stakeholders, main educational programm (MEPs) have been developed for the Bachelor's and Master's qualifications within the Biology, Geography, and Chemistry profiles of the 550100 Natural Science Education field.The Main Educational Programm covers all types of activities for students and graduates in these specified profiles. A competency model for the graduate has been developed for the Bachelor's and Master's levels for the graduates of these profiles. It includes the concept and definition of the graduate competency model, the structural basis for model development, a description of the graduate's professional activity, and the corresponding competencies required for the graduate.

ACADEMIC STAFF OF THE DEPARTMENT
Today, the department has 17 faculty members on its staff. Among them are: 1 Doctor of Sciences, 8 Candidates of Sciences, associate professors, 4 senior lecturers, 3 lecturers, and 1 laboratory assistant. The quality indicator is 56.25%. The department employs highly qualified, experienced professors and lecturers with rich scientific and practical experience and basic professional educations.

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT
The faculty of the department has published over 50 educational and methodical works, about 200 scientific articles, and more than 10 textbooks. For merits and achievements in educational activities, the lecturers of the Department of Russian Philology have been awarded state honors: 2 lecturers have been awarded the Certificate of Honor of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. Among the faculty, 8 lecturers have been awarded the title of Excellent Worker in Public Education of the Kyrgyz Republic. 8 lecturers of the department have been recognized with Certificates of Honor from the Mayor's Office of Jalal-Abad. 4 lecturers have been awarded the Certificate of Honor from the Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Jalal-Abad region.

Ten classrooms are allocated to the 550100 Natural Science Education field (profiles: Biology, Geography, and Chemistry, for bachelor’s and master’s degree students).The classrooms are equipped with visual teaching aids for professional disciplines. The academic staff of the department conducts classes using technical equipment (interactive whiteboards, projectors, and computers).

TEACHING AND METHODOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
The academic staff of the department has prepared syllabil, lecture collections, and teaching and methodological resources for all disciplines for students in the biology, geography, and chemistry profiles. Monthly methodological seminars, specialized biology, geography, and chemistry evenings, and open classes are conducted. Open classes are held according to the established academic schedule of the department. Also, the supervisors of the following student clubs work at the department in collaboration with students: "Manufacturing Visual Aids""Geoid", "Analyst", "Olympus"

Employment of Graduates in the Profiles of Biology, Geographyand Chemistry under the major 550100 Natural Science Education.
To facilitate the employment of graduates in the profiles of "Biology," "Geography," and "Chemistry," the faculty and students of the department annually participate in job fairs. At job fairs, employers announce vacant positions corresponding to the relevant specialty, and meetings are organized with employers for job placement after the completion of studies and the receipt of higher education diplomas. University students undergo internships (practical training) in secondary comprehensive schools, gymnasium schools, and lyceums in the city and region. After graduation, many alumni receive invitations from the schools where they completed their practical training. A direct connection has been established with employers. Employers actively participate in the development and discussion of the main educational programs (OEPs) for bachelor's and master's degrees.
Educational Activities of the Department
The faculty and students of the department actively participate in the university's cultural events, sports competitions (Spartakiads), contests, and other activities. The department conducts curatorial hours and educational events based on the annual work plan.

The Department of Natural Science Education maintains and establishes scientific cooperation with many universities in the Kyrgyz Republic: Osh State University (OshSU), Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn (KNU), K. Karasaev Bishkek State University (BSU), Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University (KRSU), I. Arabaev Kyrgyz State University (KSU), M. Adyshev Osh Technological University (OshTU), Kyrgyz University of Economics (KUE), Academy of Law, Business and Education, Batken State University (BatSU); universities in the Republic of Uzbekistan: Andijan State University, Fergana State University, Samarkand State University, Tashkent State University, Namangan State University; and the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University in Astana.

SOCIOCULTURAL ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT
The faculty and students of the department actively participate in all public events held by the institute, the university, and the city.Students take part with great responsibility in all clean-up days (Subbotniks) held in the city and at the university.Annually, the department's faculty and students engage in charity work on their own initiative: On June 1st, the 'International Children's Day', they visit the Children's Psychoneurological Center in the city of Manas. They purchase necessary textbooks and school supplies for the children, and the student group prepares a congratulatory and concert program. On October 1st, the 'International Day of Older Persons', the student and faculty groups visit the Nursing Home on a charitable mission. A concert program and festive.
