Master Class on the 5E Model and Digital Platforms

On December 26, 2025, at the Institute of Philology, a master class of great importance for the entire academic staff was organized by senior lecturer of the Department of Kyrgyz Language and Literature U. Omurzakova and lecturer Imaraly kyzy Nazbiyke. The event aimed to improve the quality of teaching in accordance with modern educational requirements and served as a platform for sharing experience in integrating new technologies and promoting interactive teaching methods in the educational process.

During the master class, special emphasis was placed on today’s most relevant digital platforms. The lecturers practically demonstrated how to create high-quality visual content using Canva and Gamma, how to activate student feedback through the Padlet interactive board, and how to conclude lessons in an engaging, game-based format using the Kahoot platform.

In addition, the modern 5E instructional model was comprehensively introduced to deepen the learning process. Each stage of the model—Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate—was analyzed in detail. Within this framework, Chingiz Aitmatov’s novella “Jamila” was used as an example to demonstrate how the model enables students to deeply explore the inner world of literary characters, build logical connections, and draw independent conclusions.

The 5E model elevates a traditional lesson to a research-oriented level, presenting the teacher not merely as a transmitter of information but as a guiding facilitator. The master class was also enriched with interactive games based on the Singapore teaching methodology, which created a positive learning atmosphere and introduced participants to new formats of collaborative group work.

As a result, the participants gained motivation to apply the acquired knowledge in practice, making their lessons more engaging and effective.
