DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS AND INFORMATICS

The Department of Informatics and Computer Engineering was established in 1993 (Order No. 6 dated May 29, 1993) and was renamed the Department of Physics and Informatics in 2022 (Order No. 226 dated September 1, 2022).

From the time of its establishment until 2007, the department was headed by Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor K.Zh. Usenov. In the 2007–2009 academic years, the department was led by Acting Associate Professor Ch.A. Almatova. From 2009 to 2012, the head of the department was Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor V.T. Muratalieva. During 2012–2016, the department was headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Z.A. Asilova. From 2016 to 2021, the department was led by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor G.T. Mamatova. From September 6, 2021 to February 22, 2023, the department was headed by Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor N.T. Osmonova. Since February 22, 2023, the department has been headed by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor R.S. Nusupova.

EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

At present, the Department of Physics and Informatics provides educational training under the program 550200 Physical and Mathematical Education (Bachelor’s degree).

Based on the State Educational Standard of Higher Professional Education (SES HPE), approved by Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic “On Approval of State Educational Standards of Higher Professional Education” No. 1578/1 dated September 21, 2023, and taking into account the needs of the labor market and other stakeholders, the Basic Educational Program (BEP) in the field 550200 Physical and Mathematical Education, profile Informatics (Bachelor’s degree), has been developed.

The BEP of HPE in the field of training 550200 Physical and Mathematical Education, profile Informatics, aims to develop in students universal (general scientific, instrumental, social-personal, and general cultural) and professional competencies in accordance with the requirements of the SES HPE for this field of training. The program also focuses on fostering such personal qualities as goal orientation, organizational skills, responsibility, civic awareness, communicative competence, tolerance, and others, as well as enhancing students’ general cultural level and their motivation for self-realization and professional self-improvement within the framework of lifelong learning and self-education.

Objectives of the Bachelor’s Degree Basic Educational Program (BEP)

The objectives of the Bachelor’s Degree Basic Educational Program are as follows:

  • to meet the needs of society and the state for highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel with higher education, based on scientific achievements, preserving the best traditions of university education, and maintaining close cooperation with leading universities and research institutions worldwide;
  • to train competitive Bachelor’s degree graduates in the field 550200 Physical and Mathematical Education with training profiles Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics;
  • to integrate into the global educational space through the improvement of teaching forms and methods, the introduction of innovative educational technologies, the implementation of educational and methodological principles, and the alignment of curricula and educational programs with international standards;
  • to continuously improve the quality of Bachelor’s degree training in the field 550200 Physical and Mathematical Education, profiles Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics, taking into account the requirements of modern schools, pedagogical science, technology, culture, and prospects for their development;
  • to organize and conduct applied scientific research and educational-pedagogical experiments aimed at solving problems in education, culture, and upbringing, as well as to implement the results of pedagogical research into the educational process.

The central component of the Basic Educational Program (BEP) is a system of goals that defines the graduate model as the outcome of the educational system. In the modern context, this model is represented as a competency-based graduate model.

In addition, students are provided with the opportunity to attend Web Development courses with a duration of five months (License No. LS190002032, Registration No. E2019-0073, dated May 24, 2019).
